March 26, 2008—Join an Online Discussion
Preparing Victim Service Providers and Children for Court

On March 26, 2008, at 2 p.m. (eastern time), the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) will present a Web Forum discussion with Victor Vieth on best practices for preparing victim service providers and children to testify in court.

Mr. Vieth is the Director of the National Child Protection Training Center at Winona State University, which provides training and technical assistance on dependency, neglect, and termination of parental rights in child abuse cases. He is the creator of “Finding Words: Interviewing Children and Preparing for Court,” a course designed to teach the CornerHouse Interagency Child Abuse Evaluation and Training Center's RATAC protocol ( rapport, anatomy identification, touch inquiry, abuse scenario, and closure); as well as “Half-A-Nation by 2010,” an effort to establish Finding Words programs in half the U.S. states by 2010.

Visit the OVC Web Forum now to submit questions for Mr. Vieth and return on March 26 at 2 p.m. (eastern time) for the live discussion. Learn how to participate beforehand so you are ready for the discussion.
